What KFS is

KFS connects Africa's food heritage to knowledge, skills, cuisine, hospitality, tourism, enterprise, trade and diplomacy. It is not a food festival and not a conference — it is a platform where the whole system around food meets at one table.

The KFS journey: Heritage → Knowledge → Skills → Cuisine → Hospitality → Tourism → Enterprise → Trade → Diplomacy.

The five pillars

  1. 01African Food Heritage & IdentityWhat Africa inherited, what communities know, what has survived, what is disappearing and what food tells us about identity.
  2. 02The Business of FoodFrom production and processing to packaging, branding, enterprise, procurement, finance, markets, hospitality supply chains and trade.
  3. 03Hospitality, Tourism & DestinationExploring how food moves from cuisine to experience, and from experience to destination.
  4. 04Food FuturesIndigenous and underutilised foods, nutrition, climate resilience, sustainability, science, technology, innovation and future skills.
  5. 05Culinary Diplomacy & Global ExchangeConnecting chefs, countries, cultural institutions, tourism organisations, enterprises, researchers and international partners through food.
